About Hospice Funerals
In 2017 St. Margaret’s Hospice and Memoria decided to create a new concept in order to provide all communities with a modern, caring, transparent and personal funeral service that caters for all tastes, budgets, religions and preferences.
A company where the standards of service and facility are excellent and consistent whoever you are and whatever your budget is.
A company that truly works on the principle of “caring, transparent and personal”.
Together we set up Hospice Funerals, with the purpose of engaging in partnerships with hospices throughout England & Wales, to provide this new broader concept of funeral service.
We are proud to offer a transparent menu of products and prices that start with unattended direct cremation (a low cost funeral) and rise to a bespoke traditional funeral (a more expensive, personalised funeral). The lower priced direct cremation Simple and Flexible options are not readily available at other local funeral directors and are designed to serve a new and growing demand for simpler funeral services.
All of Hospice Funerals’ selected service options are easy to understand and allow you to find a service that you feel is applicable to you, but at a price that you can also feel comfortable with.
In addition, we offer a range of pre-arranged, fixed cost funeral plans to cater for all budgets and personal choices, so that funeral arrangements can be made years in advance. The details are then known and the price is fixed. Therefore, all worry about having the funeral service the person wanted and the cost of it at the time of need is eliminated. The funds paid into these plans are held in a Royal London whole-of-life policy and are therefore totally secure and guaranteed.
All of these services can be discussed either at your home, in the hospice or when you visit one of our modern high street locations whose interior design are tasteful and serene rather than dark and forbidding.

In 2017 Memoria had all 7 of its then open crematoria nominated for the ‘Best Crematorium’ award (as organised by The Good Funeral Guide) and the winner – South Oxfordshire Crematorium & Memorial Park – is a Memoria crematorium.
“Memoria has a mission to provide exceptional standards of service and facility to the bereaved families that use its crematoria and gardens of remembrance. This is because it is not only commercially sensible to do so but also because it is an essential act of human decency towards people who have just lost a much loved member of their family or friend. Bereavement is the price we must all pay for the joy of loving and being loved. The loss of a loved one is the most stressful, unhappy and traumatic experience that we will face in life.
We at Memoria realise that we are unable to eradicate such pain but we also know it is our responsibility and duty to be as efficient, kind, respectful and polite as humanly possible to our clients at their time of grief, and thereafter when they return to remember their cherished relatives or friends. Therefore it is our aim to provide immaculately clean and tidy facilities in tranquil and beautiful surroundings attended by people who are sincerely dedicated to our mission, and who take a great pride in their work as a result.”
